Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 2.0 Update Confirmed

Hackers and leakers have a way of making fans anticipate the next round of news before developers get the chance to even hint at them. While not all deserve the time of day, there are a few known figures in the gaming industry who have earned themselves a name for reporting with accuracy. Earlier this week, leakers revealed that a 2.0.0 update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was incoming, but officials never made moves for an announcement until now.

What does this mean exactly? At this time, patch notes won’t be made available until the update launches. However, game owners can log in to the game now to see a notification to warns of an impending update. There are a few details worth noting in terms of recorded replays for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo says:

Version 2.0.0. will be distributed within the next week. Once you update the software, you won’t be able to watch replays made with previous versions. If you have any replays you want to keep, go to Vault –> Replays –> Replay Data –> Convert to Video. The patch notes will be released when the update goes live.”

It’s likely that balance changes, bugs, and various quality of life tweaks will arrive alongside the 2.0.0. update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With the upcoming appearance of Piranha Plant in February, they likely have some groundwork laid out for the new fighter. Make sure to claim the carnivorous plant for free before the deal ends on January 31st as long as you already own or purchase then register the game before said date. Want to know how?
