Starfire Officially Goes Live in Injustice 2 – Moveset and Shaders Revealed (VIDEO)
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the day when DC’s super-powered Starfire would be making her debut to NetherRealm Studios’ latest fighting game Injustice 2. Announced earlier this year, the alien heroine is the final member of the first Fighter Pack DLC and her superhuman abilities were recently shown off at this year’s San Diego Comic Con in a spectacular video. Now, during NetherRealm’s most recent Watchtower Livestream, a release date was revealed to take place today (August 8th) alongside a brand new look at Starfire’s moveset and multi-colored shaders.
According to the shown-off gameplay, Starfire’s moves are definitely not be the most advanced on the roster, but the character makes up for the limitation with quick mobility and powerful green energy attacks. Her straightforward gameplay makes Starfire an easy choice for beginner players not familiar with the more complex styles Injustice 2 offers.
While Starfire’s blazing hair and purple attire makes for a proper comic accurate design, some may want to flip through the character’s shaders to try on some different looks. The usuals such as tournament shaders are present, but also included are various schemes tied to Starfire’s extended DC lore. One variant looks to be based on her villainous sister Blackfire and all five of her multi-colored emoticlones seem incorporated as well. Check out all of the included shaders in the video below:

With the release of Starfire, those who picked up Injustice 2‘s Deluxe or Ultimate Editions will be able to start using the character at no extra cost, as with those who purchased the Fighter Pack 1 DLC. For those who only want to download the sole character of Starfire can do so for $5.99 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when it hits the online stores. Now that all three of the initial add-on fighters have been revealed, speculation on Injustice 2‘s next incoming fighters continues…
What do you think? Is Starfire’s simple but effective controls a good welcome addition for newbies, or will the character’s unique combat advantages lead to a swift nerfing down the line? Who do you think is next for Injustice 2‘s fight roster?
