Conquest Mode May Finally Be Returning To Star Wars Battlefront II
The recent Star Wars Battlefront II reboot has seen its fair share of controversies, but all in all the game continues to be able to maintain a stable audience of fans who enjoy the latest title. In order to satisfy the fan desire to live out their Star Wars fantasies, the team at EA DICE may be bringing back the iconic Conquest Mode from the developer’s previous series into the rebooted title.
In response to a fan on the Battlefront II forums, Design Director Dennis Brannvall shed some light on the idea of the return of the game mode saying, “We’re obviously hearing the requests about a more open, free-flowing large mode like Conquest. Not sure if porting a mode over is the right way to go, but we’re definitely working on satisfying that request.” While the answer doesn’t definitively state the return of the game mode, it does strongly suggest that the game may see the return sometime in the future.
Fans of the Battlefield franchise, or even the classic Battlefront titles, will be familiar with the game mode which tasks players to take and hold areas across the battlefield as reinforcements from both sides decline with kills. The demand for the mode is there and it’s good to see the developers are at least going to look into bringing it back into the series once again. Brannvall also mentioned in the same post that there is more news to come on the game’s customization options as well as more content featuring the Clone Wars. Unfortunately, he gave no word as to when we could expect to hear about any new information.
Star Wars Battlefront II is available for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. What other game modes would you like to see make a return the current Star Wars Battlefront title? Perhaps a return of the classic Space Assault from the original Battlefront series?
