Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Open Beta Live Across All Platforms
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, EA and DICE launched a closed beta for those that pre-ordered the upcoming sci-fi shooter, Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Following that preview, the developers and publishers decided to extend that test for everybody. That’s right, a Star Wars: Battlefront 2 open beta is now live for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
The extension is live now, and will run through October 9th at 9 AM PT. Players can experience the Battlefront 2 open beta across all platforms that the title will be released on. Xbox One owners that don’t have an Xbox Live Gold subscription, need not worry. Microsoft is allowing free online multiplayer through the same time frame. All you need is an internet connection, a ship that can make the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs, and a clear schedule.
The Battlefront 2 open beta will be limited to four game modes: Galactic Assault, Starfighter Assault, Strike, and Arcade. All modes, with the exception of Arcade, will allow up to 40 players to duke it out in some of the Star Wars universe’s most iconic battles. Arcade mode is for one or two players (via split-screen), and will feature some of the same battles as the online modes. With only a few days to take advantage of the test, there’s no time to waste.
Whether you have been anticipating the release, or you’re still not quite sold on the sequel, the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 open beta should be at least worth checking out. The title drops on November 17th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Will you be participating in the beta? What new features are you looking forward to most?
