October’s Splatfest Announced for Splatoon 2 – Appropriate Launch Date Revealed

October's Splatfest

October’s Splatfest has officially been announced, revealing the two opposing sides that will undoubtedly divide the Splatoon 2 player base. While prior Splatfests have explored the superiority of McDonald’s side orders(french fries vs. Chicken McNuggets), beloved condiments(ketchup vs. mayonnaise), or which superpower is better(flight vs. invisibility), the upcoming event is appropriately themed for this time of year: Vampires vs. werewolves.

While Halloween is typically the spookiest day every October, this year will be providing a bit of competition, as the 13th is set to fall on a Friday. Having this occur in the month of spookiness is sure to please fans of things that go bump in the night. It also happens to be the day that October’s Splatfest goes live. Beginning at 9PM PT on Friday the 13th, players will either side with vampires or werewolves to determine which monster mashes the best.

This month’s Splatfest in Europe asked a very different question, but important nonetheless: Which way should a toilet paper roll…roll? While that event is set to expire within the next 24 hours and settle the debate once and for all, Splatoon 2 players in North America still have time to decide which faction they will side with. Either way, the inky firefight that is sure to go down will be outright spooktacular.
