Spiritfarer Adding Four New Spirits For Free, Updates Coming This Year

spiritfarer

Spiritfarer, the heart-ravaging, emotional indie game that made gamers like me sob their eyes out will bring three new updates this year. What’s better than fresh content? The fact that they’re free. Announcing the 2021 roadmap for the emotional rollercoaster of an experience, Thunder Lotus shared their plans for the new updates coming throughout the year.

Introducing Lily, Beverly, Jackie, and Daria, the four new spirits will arrive in three separate installments — one in the Spring, Summer and, finally, in the Fall. The updates will also add new story content, and quality of life improvements to create an even better gameplay experience. There will be new buildings, boats, locations, resources, and recipes. Sounds like there is a great deal in store! Check out the roadmap below:

Lily will be the first new character coming to Spiritfarer. As you uncover Stella’s (the main character) memories, her cabin will gradually bloom with flowers and become home to purple butterflies. Eventually, it’ll take form as a new spirit named Lily, Stella’s younger sister.

Beverly will arrive this Summer. She is Stella’s old neighbor. “While visiting Oxbury, Stella is accosted by a stranger who turns out to be her old neighbor Beverly,” Thunder Lotus explained. “She’s been feeling rather lonely on this island and couldn’t be happier to have finally found someone to talk to about the past!”

Lastly, Jackie and Daria arrive later this year in Fall. “Out of the blue, Stella receives coordinates for a new island that houses a run-down hospital. There, she’ll meet two spirits: Jackie, the caretaker, and Daria, his main patient. Seeing that Jackie is overworked, Stella decides to lend him a hand.”

Spiritfarer is available now on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Stadia.
