Shadow Of The Colossus Developer To Remake Another ‘Classic’ Game

Shadow Of The Colossus Developer

The Shadow of the Colossus remake has officially arrived exclusively for the PlayStation 4, thus marking the end of developer Bluepoint Games’ remake saga that began back in 2011, when it released the Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection for the PS3. Now, fans of the Shadow of the Colossus developer are wondering what’s next for the studio, and if it involves work on yet another remake of a classic game. Spoiler alert: it does.

Bluepoint Games has begun to post multiple job lists confirming that the Shadow of the Colossus developer is in fact working on another remake for a classic game. One such listing is for a Senior Graphics Engineer, with Bluepoint on the hunt for someone “with an interest in cutting-edge graphics and visual effects systems join our team on a full time basis developing AAA titles for latest-gen home consoles.” Later on in the same job listing Bluepoint Games reveals that it is working on remaking a classic game for “current-gen game systems”.

We are passionately at work remaking a classic for current-gen game systems, growing our capabilities as a team and raising the bar for what fans anticipate from us.”

Of course, when folks caught wind of the new job listings, speculation on which classic game was getting remastered began to flourish. The more popular suggestions thus far have been a Demon’s Souls remake and a remake for Syphon Filter, both of which would have fans scrambling to put money down on pre-orders. The former suggestion makes a great deal of sense, especially with the Dark Souls remaster arriving later this year. In regards to Syphon Filter, Sony recently renewed the trademark late last year for the series starring Gabe Logan. Either potential remake would draw even more fans to Sony’s side in the latest console war, it’s only a matter of time before we find out just what classic title Bluepoint Games is working on.

So, thoughts on what the new remake could be? What classic game would you like to see remade or remastered for PS4 or Xbox One?
