Resident Evil 2 Remake Release Window Hinted By Capcom
Capcom has certainly had their hands full lately with the success that’s now Monster Hunter: World, but there are others awaiting news of another popular franchise within their repertoire and that’s the Resident Evil series. Though Steamforged Games went ahead and received the company’s okay to crowdfund a related board game, there has yet to be news of the Resident Evil 2 remake. Even though it was first announced in 2015, over two years have passed without so much as a word on its development. Except Capcom may have just hinted at a release window.
During Capcom’s annual fiscal report, it was revealed that the developer intends to release “two major” games within this fiscal year, which ends on March 31st. Could that mean Resident Evil 2 Remake will arrive sometime this year or by April 2019? That’s a very plausible conclusion.
Previously revealed as a leak on 4Chan, an anonymous user revealed interesting details on the remake of Resident Evil 2, stating that the target release date is intended for late 2018. Other details include game features or lack thereof, campaign details, and gameplay mechanics among a long list of other information. They even divulge information on playable characters and potential downloadable content. It’s quite the detailed list.
Regardless, Resident Evil 2 Remake is happening, but no one knows when it’ll release just yet. If the leak on 4Chan proves to be true, fans will be happy the arrival sooner than later. The perfect opportunity for Capcom to make an outstanding reveal comes soon during the E3 2018 event. So, fans will just have to wait and see.
