Remnant: From The Ashes Gameplay Trailer Revealed At E3 2019 (VIDEO)

The folks at Perfect World Entertainment just took to the stage at E3 2019 to reveal a brand new gameplay trailer for their Souls-like title Remnant: From the Ashes. Touted as a co-op survival shooter now in development by Gunfire Games, the new title takes place in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monsters, and it is up to the player and two co-op partners to take them on. Check out the epic trailer below:

As mentioned, it appears that Gunfire Games is shooting for a souls-like feel with Remnant: From the Ashes. Maneuverability seems rather similar to that found within the Dark Souls series, with a heavier emphasis placed on dodging large attacks while throwing in some small ones of your own. Gunfire recommends that players engage in co-op in order to “increase your chances of survival.”  Loot is also a major focus within the game, and according to the folks at Gunfire Games all the items are “legendary items” that will be available through killing monsters, completing quests, and exploring.

It’s all hand scripted but the system takes all the pieces and stitches them together.”

During the show, Gunfire Games CEO David Adams spoke about the procedural generation in Remnant: From the Ashes. “One of the coolest features of the game is the dynamic generation system,” said Adams. “We generate the map, the enemies, the quests, the NPCs, bosses, everything.”

Remnant: From the Ashes launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox one on August 20, 2019.
