PUBG Weapon Skins Coming Soon, Devs Testing Region-Locked Servers
For many, the addition of weapon skins to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was the next logical step in developer PUBG Corp’s pay-to-look-fancy business model, though up until now there hasn’t been an actual timeline in place of when that might happen. Now, the developer of the popular battle royale game has provided us with said timeline and gone one step further, revealing the drop rates for the first batch of PUBG weapon skins to be introduced to the game.
Announced over on the Steam Community forums, the upcoming PUBG weapon skins can be obtained through two new crates: the paid Triumph crate, which has a 20% chance of dropping among the pool of other crates, and the raider crate, which is free and separate from the other crates. Both crates have different loot tables, with the raider crate having significantly lower percent drop rates for skins that aren’t Rugged (Beige). Players will be able to equip weapon skins they have earned via the “Weapons” section of the customization menu, which will be implemented on the live servers after testing.
The drop rates for the new free/paid crate are as follows:

In addition to the weapon skins, PUBG Corp is also looking into the possibility of region-locking servers, something a large part of the community has been requesting for quite some time now. The team is currently testing out region-locking in order to “provide a better gameplay experience as it will improve network issues and help with linguistic barriers”
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available for PC and Xbox One. PUBG Mobile is also available for Android and iOS devices.
