PUBG Images Hint At Upcoming PS4 Release

PUBG PS4 Confirmed With Exclusive Content (VIDEO)

PlayStation gamers have watched for months as Xbox One users held exclusive console access for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Sony users have waited patiently for news of a PS4 port with little to show for it. A new thread and some PSN Profiles indicate their wait may end sooner than expected.

Over on ResetEra, a user posted some new content hinting at an imminent PUBG release for PS4. Two strings of region-specific Content-ID characters indicate the game is ready for the PlayStation Store. The user also posted two images, which fall in line with most of the game’s promotional work. The user states that this “confirms” PUBG is coming to Sony’s console. That may be a bit of an overreaction, but not much. This port has been rumored for some time, and these new images and IDs all but guarantee the title is on the way. Additionally, this reinforces a previous leak we reported on. The game is coming.

On ResetEra, fans and analysts have already begun speculating about a release date. Some have confidently said “next month,” while others remain hesitant about picking a date. The images indicate the game is not far away, but fans should wait and see. The “Game Preview Edition” of PUBG launched December 2017 for Xbox One, but the official release only occurred this September. The game should have a shorter cycle for its second console port, though nothing has been confirmed.

Despite the single console status, the game has achieved massive international success. China has fallen in love with the title, despite the government’s attempts to curb video game consumption. It feels strange for a game as big as PUBG to have waited so long to port for PlayStation. Microsoft’s timed-exclusive deal stretched out considerably longer than we expected. A Christmas release would mean a one-year exclusivity deal, which is rare but not unheard of. We will keep you up to date as this story develops.

What do you think, gamers? Is PUBG on its way to the PlayStation? When do you expect an announcement or a release date? Let us know in the comments! And for more gaming news and highlights, be sure to follow DFTG on Facebook and Twitter!
