Prince Of Persia Creator Hints At Series Revival
Prince of Persia, a popular game series back in the 80s and 90s has a loyal following, ready and waiting for another game and perhaps the future holds it in the cards. Maybe. In response to social media inquiry, Prince of Persia creator, Jordan Mechner, hinted at a series revival. Turns out, quite a few people want another franchise release including model Chrissy Teigen, and he’s “doing his best” to make it happen.
Chrissy, I know a few other people who feel the same way. We’re doing our best to make it happen! https://t.co/guYWh1n0E8

After several years, the original Prince of Persia creator has spoken up about his critically-acclaimed video game series, one so popular that a film was created in 2008. While this isn’t solid evidence that another game is in the works, it certainly raises hopes. Plenty of fans spoke up to praise and encourage the path toward a revival of the franchise, wherein Twitter users responded with unbridled excitement. In fact, some variation of the 2008 version was a popular request.
That is so nice to hear @jmechner! A lot of people miss Prince of Persia games, including me! Could you elaborate a bit on what exactly you're working on?:D I LOVED the original as well as the @Ubisoft games. I really admire you for creating Prince of Persia in the 80's!

@ubisoft I'd love to be able to play a new #PrinceofPersia on both my Nintendo Switch and PS4. The 2008 Prince of Persia is still my favorite. I also enjoyed Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands (it was unique) on the Wii and POP The Fallen King on DS.

I sell my soul to the devil or I'll be your slave for all eternity if you decide to make a sequel to PoP 2008. Please, pretty pleeeaaasee…

While others are simply already all-aboard the hype train, responding to Mechner with series of hilarious gifs demanding this to happen. After all, what better time to do remastered games or an entirely new installment of an already well-known franchise? With the retro craze and the fact that kids and teens from the era that the game first began are all grown up and ready for more.
Since Ubisoft developer a Prince of Persia game alongside Mechner, the Montreal branch included their own official response on Twitter:
Hey @chrissyteigen 👋 Unfortunately, the Prince of Persia franchise is still on pause at the moment but Chrissy of Persia sure is a character we wish we came up with earlier. pic.twitter.com/OSvEh6yjUv

According to Ubisoft, the series is on pause on their end, but that isn’t to say some finagling couldn’t happen and it would continue without them. On the other hand, perhaps it could be a grand reunion with Mechner once more? What do you think of the original Prince of Persia creator dropping hints at a revival?
Do you think Ubisoft should have their hand in it? Or is this an idea completely out of the question impossible?
