Portal 2 Receiving Huge Expansion From Modders, Coming Soon
There are a number of artists who have showcased their inability to sometimes count or even use numbers properly. U2 skips numbers all of the time, Drowning Pool can only count to four, the Battlefield franchise mixes up their numbers, and so much more. Joking aside, Valve seemingly does have an issue with releasing a third installment in any of their franchises. Portal 2, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2 have all been left alone, never to see the number 3.
That said, yes, there have been updates and expansions to give fans even more bang for their buck, but never a full third installment. Thankfully, modders exist, and they have taken Portal 2 under their wings. Destroyed Aperture is an upcoming expansion that will provide players with an entirely new experience set within the labs we’ve all come to love.
“You take the role of a man named David that gets woken up in an overgrown and decayed Aperture Science Facility 7,” the mod’s description reads. “Facility 7’s central core has failed and destroyed any and every communication systems along with the environment and killed almost everyone. The facility has been in a decayed state for years, locking everyone in. But not all hope is lost, there still is a chance of escaping.”
Here’s what will be included in the upcoming Portal 2 mod:
– Complete new campaign and story with 5 chapters.
– 20+ maps filled with puzzles and exploration with increasing difficulty.
– 30+ logic-based puzzles.
– New testing elements like “the Portable Button” and a secret bonus testing element.
– Custom soundtrack, voice lines, player and portal gun model.
– Professionally made environments and visuals.
– Steam Achievements.
