Popular Comedies ‘The Office’ and ’30 Rock’ Could Be Making a Comeback to Television

Revivals are becoming increasingly popular these days. Initially, studios were interested in reviving older shows such as Hawaii 5-0 or Miami Vice and bringing them into a more modern era. Now even more recent shows from the 90’s and early 2000’s are being revived as well such as the recent announcements that Will and Grace, as well as Roseanne, would be returning soon. A recent interview with NBC indicates even popular work-comedies 30 Rock and The Office may have a chance to return as well.

Within the last few weeks, there has been a lot of talk within NBC to bring back The Office (US), which was an Emmy-winning comedy. While a possible Office return hasn’t been made official, Bob Greenblatt makes it clear that the possibility is there and that he’s been in talks with Greg Daniels about the show’s return multiple times over the last few years.

We often talk about The Office, I’ve talked to Greg four times over the past few years. It’s always, ‘maybe some day but not now. There is certainly an open invitation but we don’t have anything happening right now. If he wants to do it, I would do it.”

The same is said 30 Rock. Greenblatt explains that he’s asked Tina Fey, the show’s creator, on multiple occasions but each time the answer was more or less a shrug of the shoulders and a maybe. Perhaps someday fans will get a chance to see their favorite shows return to television, but for now they’ll stay off the air. Are there any other shows you’d like to see return to television?
