Pokémon Nintendo Direct Announced For This Week, Watch Here (VIDEO)
The Pokémon series has given fans quite the array of offerings in the last few years alone, with two major releases for the Nintendo Switch, a handful of mobile titles, as well as quite a few movies and TV shows–one of which starring Ryan Reynolds. It’s a safe bet that everyone’s favorite Pocket Monsters are experiencing a successful run as of late and it appears that even more is being planned for the future with the reveal of a new Pokémon-themed Nintendo Direct slated for later this week.
As unveiled on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account (H/T Prima Games), a special Pokémon Nintendo Direct is set to take place on Thursday, January 9th–specifically at 6:30 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. CT / 9:30 a.m. ET. The post confirms “roughly 20 minutes” of “new Pokémon information” will be revealed during the Poké-focused presentation, suggesting there may be some pretty substantial information on the way.

On top of the announcement, Nintendo launched a video livestream for the proceedings, which can be viewed below once the countdown ends. Pokémon Directs have taken place several times in the last year, with the latest landing back in May with the release date reveal for Sword and Shield alongside mobile offerings Pokémon Sleep and the Pokémon GO Plus Plus peripheral. Witch such a wide array of announcements made in the past, it’ll surely be interesting to see what Nintendo has on store for its latest Poké-event.
