PlayStation 5 Pro Reportedly Launching Alongside The Standard PS5
As we slowly approach the next generation of video game consoles, many have begun to wonder whether or not we’ll see souped up versions of the Xbox Scarlett and the PlayStation 5. This generation of consoles saw the first example for such a thing happening thanks to the PlayStation 5 Pro and the Xbox One X, and as such there is certainly the possibility of something similar happening in the future. Now, a new report suggests that the PlayStation 5 will in fact be getting a ‘PlayStation 5 Pro’ version, and it will allegedly be launching alongside the standard PS5.
The rumor comes by way of Japanese journalist Zenji Nishikawa, who stated during a recent stream that Sony would be launching two different versions of the PlayStation 5 next year: the base model and the Pro model. According to Nishikawa, Sony is doing this due to the heightened interest in a higher-end model, and aims to give consumers the option from the very start of the generation.
Naturally this is just a rumor, though if it turned out to be true it would make it much easier for developers to have their games optimized for both consoles right from the get-go. It will also be interesting to see the specs on a ‘PlayStation 5 Pro’ and how far it would stand apart from both the base PS5 and Xbox Scarlett. In the meantime, we can only hope that the actual official reveal for the PS5 will happen soon.
So, thoughts on the possibility of a PlayStation 5 Pro? Would you pony up for the better version, or stick with the standard one instead?
