PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Launches on the Xbox One With Exclusive Trailer (VIDEO)
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is an Xbox One launch exclusive that is described as a “tactical, last-man-standing shooter being developed with community feedback”. Players have to survive on a huge 8×8 km island, finding weapons and supplies to help them become the only survivor. Think of it like the Hunger Games, but exceptionally more fun.
This gigantic multiplayer online survival game is being developed by Bluehole exclusively for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is based off of these battle royale-style game mods that were developed by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene that were originally created for other video games, but has now turned into it’s own game with Greene at the helm of creative direction. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds starts with up to 100 players parachuting onto the massive island where they will immediately have to search for supplies and weapons to kill everyone else before they get killed themselves. When the round starts the whole island is safe to roam. Well, besides the other players trying to kill you, but as time passes the safe zone becomes smaller and smaller in order to force players to encounter each other until there is only one man or woman left standing.
The title was released on the early access program from Steam back in March and since that time there have been over 2 million copies sold. The developer plans to do the console release sometime later this year. What do you guys think of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds? Have you tried it out yet?
