EA’s Play press conference was packed with new content and exciting announcements that kicked off E3 with a bang on Saturday, June 10. Among the announcements was the fact that some of EA’s games will be free to play for a limited time. Select titles from their online listings are now available to enjoy at no charge.

Running from June 10 until June 18, EA’s games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be available for free in the EA Access Vault. Those with PC can check out these select titles on Origin Access. For the PS4 users, there is a selection available as well.

Free game trials for the PS4 include Titanfall 2, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2, FIFA 17, EA Sports UFC 2, and Madden NFL 17. In addition, PlayStation 4 users who own a copy of Star Wars Battlefront will be given access to maps and premium heroes. While the offer to play EA’s games for free may be limited, the lineup is pretty great and should get fans in the mood for some of the new titles revealed at the publisher’s E3 press conference.

EA’s games aren’t the only thing being released for free either. During the conference, they announced that the DLC content coming for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will also be available for free. Instead of a season pass, they are opting for a more “themed seasons”-like approach with no extra charge coming to players. The first expansion is expected to include Finn and Captain Phasma as playable characters in the shooting free for all that is the Battlefront franchise.

Battlefront 2 is expected to provide gamers with expansive worlds and contain new and strategic systems of play. Vehicle use is up as well, with dogfights as a major focus in the presentation. The game will also feature new heroes, planets, a unique story mode, split-screen co-op, and a single-player mode.
