Pixar’s “Up” Easter Egg Found in Battlefield 1’s DLC They Shall Not Pass (VIDEO)

Pixar's Up Easter Egg - Battlefield 1

DICE’s hit World War I first-person shooter Battlefield 1 has been receiving high praises since its release in October of 2016. Things got a little more interesting when players started discovering clever Easter Eggs throughout the game. Instead of just placing a random egg into the game, the developers have set up scavenger hunts of sorts in order to unlock these hidden gems within the game. The latest of these quests leads to a nod towards Pixar’s Up.

The task to unlock the Easter Egg isn’t that difficult, but it does require the game’s latest DLC, They Shall not Pass. If you happen to be a Premium Pass holder, you can get right to it, but if not, you’ll have to wait until March 27 when the DLC goes live to the public. You’ll want to find a server that lands you on the Verdun Heights map. This is where the Up reference will be located. As seen in the video below by YouTuber jackfrags, you will first need to find three wine bottles located near the “A” flag on the southern portion of the map. Demolish these fermented grape juice receptacles at once. Destroy them because shooting perfectly good wine bottles hidden near fence posts is what it takes to see flying houses. I didn’t write the rules, I’m just relaying them. After you’ve needlessly wasted perfectly good digital wine from the early 1900’s, you’ll want to find three weather vanes with roosters on them. Shoot those bastards because now you’re probably drunk… For science!

After you’re done wasting alcohol and shooting pointing birds, you can look to the trees to see Carl Fredricksen’s house floating through the sky. Instead of hundreds of balloons, the house is being carried by three giant balloons that are in the order of blue, white, and red, the colors of the French flag. The significance to the French flag revolves around They Shall Not Pass‘ main theme, which is the French’s involvement in the war.
