Posted in detail on Overwatch’s website, Symmetra has gotten some pretty inclusive updates to her offensive playability. These changes were made in regards to complaints stating that she was not very active, or just plain weak when it came to her abilities. One of the major updates the developers have announced is that her turret carries will increase from three to six, giving her double the whammy that gamers need. Another change is that Symmetra’s Photon Shield will be replaced with a Photon Barrier, which increases her shield protection as it travels forward. You can review the full list of changes to the character on the blog, or check out the video below as Kaplan, himself, outlines those changes for you.
This update should address the issues players have brought up to the developers, as this makes Symmetra a much more aggressive team player. There’s nothing like having a dud cluttering up the character selection screen, so it’s nice to see that the Developers took these concerns to heart and really gave it their all to make sure she is a well-liked character in the long run.
Overwatch certainly has been quick about making sure regular updates are kept a-flowing for their fans. Just last week, Sombra hacked her way into the latest Patch update, and was met with wild success as players got a chance to meet this new character. It’s now just a matter of time to see if Symmetra’s character changes will be met with the same level of enthusiasm, and if the developers really have turned a new leaf for this once hum-drum character.
So what do you guys think of these changes? Do you believe the developers have made a smart decision, changing her design up so quickly? Give us a shout out in the comments below, and game on!
