Overcooked Is Free To Keep On The Epic Games Store (VIDEO)

Get Overcooked for Free Now On the Epic Games Store for a Limited Time

Since starting its run over a year ago, the Epic Games Store has given quite a few games away for free, with the lineup changing with the passing of each and every week. As the store’s profile has risen, so have the freebies, with past weeks offering the likes of Gearbox’s Borderlands, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, and Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. Today marks yet another no-charge title from Epic Games, this time giving players the chance to add colorful cooking title Overcooked to their game library.

Team17’s popular multiplayer title was revealed as the latest Epic freebie on the store’s official website, with the offer set to last from now until June 11th (8pm PT). As per the game’s official listing, Overcooked is described as a “chaotic couch co-op cooking game” where players work as a team to “prepare, cook and serve up a variety of tasty orders” before impatient customers “storm out in a huff.” While this isn’t the first time the game has been free on the Epic Games Store, this new instance now gives players a second chance to scoop up the culinary fun for themselves.

In the past, Epic Games had been known to advertise the next week’s free game in advance in an effort to build hype for the release. However, it appears the store is now looking to make each selection a surprise, as the site’s free games section currently lists next week’s offering as a “mystery game” in lieu of an actual title. As demonstrated several times prior, this game could turn out to be anything under the sun from indie favorites like Overcooked, AAA blockbusters, to underrated gems. We’ll just have to wait and see.
