Ori And The Will Of The Wisps Receives New Trailer At E3 (VIDEO)

Ori

Since last year’s E3 event fans have known that a sequel to the gorgeous Ori and the Blind Forest was in the works. The original title featured beyond gorgeous environments, wrapped in a touching, emotionally-charged story. Now, the Xbox event at E3 2018 has revealed a new trailer for the sequel that features even more beautiful environments and more of the wondrous side scrolling adventure gameplay we loved from the original.

The trailer features a few clips of new mechanics and flashy abilities, including a scene where our protagonist can be seen soaring through the air, even an instance of riding in what appears to be a mining cart a la Donkey Kong style. With some much amazing and wonderful gameplay, it’ll be hard to hold back fans excitement for the sequel

Players will assume a white guardian spirit, Ori, as the “light and eyes” of the Forest’s spirit tree. As players progress through the game they’ll be challenged by puzzles, some of which will require the player to unlock new abilities in order to reach previously inaccessible areas in a Metroidvania fashion. This seems to be much in keeping with the original title, which had players bouncing back and forth between increasingly-familiar environments to pick up collectibles and power-ups after obtaining new abilities.

There is no official release date yet for the title, however it is expected to arrive in 2019.
