Souls-like Nioh’s ‘Bloodshed’s End’ DLC Drops September 26

Nioh: Bloodshed's End

The end is near for Team Ninja’s Samurai Souls-like Nioh.  The developer has announced a third – and final – DLC expansion for the game, titled Bloodshed’s End.  The DLC arrives for the PS4 exclusive title late this month, on September 26.  In a recent blog post over on the PlayStation forums, Team Ninja creative director Tom Lee shared some details about the upcoming expansion, revealing that Bloodshed’s End takes place shortly after Nioh’s previous DLC, Defiant Honor.  As it is the game’s final DLC, it will also mark the “end of William’s journey.”

“The Siege of Osaka’s winter campaign was put to an end by a peace negotiation between Toyotomi and Tokugawa,” said Lee.  “However, conditions were harsh as Osaka Castle lost its secondary and tertiary enclosures, as well as its inner and outer moats, leaving just the main enclosure for the defeated.  Inevitably, this situation led to an uprising and another war broke out just months after the winter campaign.”

Nioh: Bloodshed's End

Just like the game’s previous expansions, Bloodshed’s End brings with it new main, sub, and Twilight missions.  The DLC also introduces a new mode called The Abyss, in which players can “test their skills in a perpetual battleground.”  Lee also confirmed that the DLC also adds new characters, Yokai, Guardian Spirits, and a new difficulty level to the game.  One again in keeping with Nioh’s previous expansions, Bloodshed’s End retails for $10, though those that purchased the title’s $25 season pass can freely download the DLC.
