Brand New Titan, Free DLC Map, and More Revealed for Upcoming Titanfall 2 Update
In April, Respawn Entertainment made a big announcement showcasing a general road map of all the updates to arrive in the coming months. Included within the notes was a brand new titan, 2 more Live Fire and multiplayer maps, primes and much more. For the very first round of changes listed on this plan, Respawn has come dressed to impress and revealed the brand new Titan called Monarch. There’s even a new execution called “Now You See Me [Cloak]” and, at this time, there are no listed details on what it looks like or how it works. However, there will be a trailer to introduce everyone to these additions very soon.
For the complete patch notes on the first round of updates for Titanfall 2, check out the details below:
NEW MAP: RELIC
- Set among the old wreck of the IMC carrier IMS Odyssey, Relic is a worksite where Pilots have created clever wall running routes by hanging pieces of the wreckage between buildings. The map consists of the wreck of the Odyssey in the center of the map that splits the two town areas.
- Created with frontlines in mind, the gameplay is all about assaulting and controlling the center and engaging in firefights from the great viewpoints of the ship against the varied defensible positions in the Town.
NEW PRIME TITANS
- Ronin and Tone
MAP UPDATE: CRASHSITE
- We worked on a collision pass for Crashsite, fixing around 100 instances of getting bumped, bonked, stuck or tripped up. During the clean-up, we also wanted to experiment with more mobility options. To that end we’ve added 8 ziplines to get around the map faster and a few more wallrunning locations. Nessie approved these changes.
- Now You See Me [Cloak]
NEW PURCHASABLE STORE CONTENT
- Nose art
- To celebrate the release of a brand new Titan and those sexy Primes, Titan Brawl will make its grand return to the Featured Mode spot on 5/30 and we’ll be giving double XP for all modes. Some time after the patch, we’ll also be introducing some major balancing changes that we’ll be experimenting with in the Featured Mode spot as well. Player feedback will be crucial as we decide next steps. We’ll announce when we make the update and want lots of players to check it out! We’re looking forward to hearing what you think.
The Monarch’s Reigns update will begin on May 30th. With less than a week away, which features are you looking forward to the most? What are your ideas and hopes on the new titan?
