New Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Gameplay Trailer Features Stunning Visuals (VIDEO)

CD Projekt Red certainly has fans at the edge of their seat. Though Cybperunk 2077 is a long ways from launch, the developers have plenty in store for fans of The Witcher franchise. In their upcoming strategy card game, the iconic storytelling from the medieval fantasy RPG meets strategy in Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales. The spin-off won’t be arriving until later this month, but there’s plenty of gameplay and tasty details to sate curiosity.

In the latest gameplay trailer for Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, CDPR features the stunning visuals it has to offer and a quick peek at gameplay. Dawning the crown of Lyria and Rivia’s Queen Meve, players must set off on a treacherous journey to unite forces against the invasion of the Nilfgaardian empire. Rally allies across the Northern realms, make new ones, and build a great army to even the battlefield. The path will prove perilous as enemy spies and other obstacles will hinder Meve’s progress at every turn. Check out the new video below:

This entry into the Witcher universe mixed iconic features from the trilogy including the strategic card battling system, exploration, in-depth narrative, and memorable characters. Players will need to manage their resources at camp, travel to “never-before-seen kingdoms,” and so much more. Here’s a quick synopsis from CD Projekt Red:

Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics. Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.
