A New Prey Trailer Teases Heart Pounding Plot – May Release Date Confirmed (VIDEO)
The new Prey trailer for the upcoming reboot has just released, weaving even more of the incredibly frightening story coming our way. Aside from the terrifying shots of gameplay footage shown in the new video, the trailer has also revealed exactly when this reboot will drop for fans everywhere. Bethesda uses this trailer to officially announce the game’s release date of May 5th, less than four months away and counting down. Check out the trailer below and get ready for some real scares coming this spring:
The second trailer was dropped on the official Prey Twitter, before leading to Bethesda’s blog post about the game’s coming launch. The blog post goes into some detail, explaining the different nuances in the trailer and what they could mean for the player. Some of these aspects are highlighted here, revealing details like the vicious looking weapons you’ll have at your disposal (such as the S4 Tactical Pump Shotgun), several different Typhon that you’ll have to fight (like the Mimic, which can literally mimic everything possible on the space station, Talos), and gives us a little more of an in-depth look at the main character, Morgan Yu and what he (or she, if you choose to play Morgan as a woman) has to overcome to survive the monsters.
You are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You’ll have to rely on the tools you find on the station – along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities – to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive.
The hype for Prey has been high since its official announcement back at 2016’s E3. Since the announcement, Dishonored’s creators have boasted that this title will be “flawless” upon launch and that fans will be treated to quite the game play experience. This is a lot of confidence in a title that’s getting a reboot after so long, but if the creators are positive the game will be met with enthusiasm, we can only wait for May 5th to find out for ourselves. In the meantime, make sure you preorder your copy to get the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack exclusively, and take on the Typhon with as much help as you can get!
