New Nintendo Switch Featuring Longer Battery Life Announced

Nintendo Switch Longer Battery

The Nintendo Switch has been a dominant force in gaming ever since it launched, bringing the joys of a home console together with a portable device. Ever since then, fans have been in love with the system. The Big N recently announced the Nintendo Switch Lite, a stripped down version of the console, but now they have revealed another new version of the Switch that is the same as the current model, but with longer batter life.

There was a recent FCC listing that indicated an updated version of the Nintendo Switch was inbound, but it was unknown exactly what all of the details were. Luckily, the wait has not been long and we now know a longer battery is coming. The current Nintendo Switch features a battery that lasts approximately 2.5 – 6.5 hours. The new model, however, comes with a battery that lasts approximately 4.5 – 9 hours.

With a release set for some time around the middle of next month, the updated Nintendo Switch device will be sold for the same $299.99 the current version goes for. As the models will likely be mixed around in stores, the model number of the new Switch is HAC-001(-01) and the product serial number will begin with XKW, as pointed out on the product page.

The Nintendo Switch is currently available everywhere. As for the stripped down Lite version, it will be arriving on September 20th for $199.99. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
