A New Gorillaz TV Show is Finally in the Works According to Jamie Hewlett (VIDEO)

The animated musical group Gorillaz has faithfully taken their beloved fans on whirlwind adventures through their albums, from the most mystical of tales to more simplified stories. Generally speaking, the animated music videos to go along with these songs are incredibly well-detailed (not to mention, often quite surreal), which goes to show how entertaining the adventure has been for many followers over the years. Now, 16 years later, it seems that the hype for this particular group of musical individuals has finally taken a step towards bringing to life their own television series!

In an interview with Q magazine, Jamie Hewlett (the illustrator for this fictional musical group) has announced that he is currently working on a 10-episode series for Gorillaz, featuring a new narrative about the band just as the music videos have done since the beginning. Whether the show proves to rehash some stories seen in past videos, or start up a whole new tale has yet to be determined. There hasn’t been an official announcement about what the series will be about, or when it will be premiering. What we do know, however, is that along with the new show, Hewlett has been working diligently on new artwork, tour merchandise, clothing, and visuals to go along with the new series when it premiers.

In the meantime, the latest Gorillaz animated video can be seen below, which can definitely be made better with the use of Google Cardboard or the Oculus Rift if you download the Desktop app for your computer:
