New Far Cry 5 Artwork Depicts a Militant Cult – Previous Character Info Now Fits Perfectly

Last week, a person who was allegedly part of the focus group testing Far Cry 5 gave some interesting insight into what the game will be like, including a very erratic main character that may or may not have been (accurately) compared to Tom Cruise. The wild celebrity-esque storyline with an edge of fanaticism seems to fit in perfectly with the recently released artwork from Ubisoft about the latest title. Check out the Far Cry 5 artwork in the official image below:

Far Cry 5 ‘Last Supper’ art

The characters in the image above definitely have a lot going on in this Last Supper-esque style design. With the video teasers officially released earlier this week confirming its Montana, USA location, this piece offers just a little more insight into what fans can expect.

From the weaponry, the bound “Sinner” in the left hand corner, all the way down to the good ‘ol fashioned American pie – there’s a lot gamers can take away from this image, especially so the longer you stare at it. The money, the burning building broken by the serene scenery – the bombs, flag, the church and bible – the juxtaposition and symbolism behind the projected comparison to da Vinci’s Last Supper piece is an interesting teaser to the upcoming narrative.

The man posed dead center could only be one of the centrical characters to this story –  it definitely lines up to the previous description given earlier this week,

An A-list celebrity who became a ranking member of the high council. There were also some oblique references to this religion sharing some commonalities with Scientology, and I wonder if those will make the cut. The only thing about the Tom Cruise [cipher] that didn’t seem to make a hell of a lot of sense is that he was supposed to have garnered his fame, at least in partial, from working in pornography. If anything’s gonna change, I’d hope it’s this element, because I’m not sure small-town America’s all that ready for porno-Tom-Cruise-turned-religious-nutjob-murderer.”

Speculation, at this point – but with E3 around the corner and teasers coming in more steadily, it is not above reason to expect more information this June. There will also be a confirmed announcement trailer for this game on May 26th at 9 AM ET. Far Cry 5 is expected to drop April of 2018, so for now – we wait.
