Evil Dead Game Heading To PC And Consoles, VR Version Not Happening
Bruce Campbell makes his iconic return as Ash Williams! Since last year, the star teased time and time again the release of another Evil Dead video game. Despite no official confirmation from a studio, the actor himself did the job instead during an interview conducted in May. However, there seemed to have been some confusion as to what platforms it would release on. To clarify all that, Campbell re-confirmed the development of a new Evil Dead game, but sadly, there won’t be a VR experience.
As seen in the Twitter post below, the upcoming Evil Dead game that is slated to arrive “within a year” will launch on PC and consoles. Unfortunately for those hoping for a virtual reality version – that’s not happening:
Hey, groovy gamers, this is a swell time to clarify some incorrect info that might be out there (including from me!): the upcoming Evil Dead video game is being developed for consoles and PC, not VR. Sorry for any confusion. Game on! #MyBoomstickIsTooBigForVR #EvilDeadTheGame pic.twitter.com/Jqh2BGW82p

Since the first Evil Dead game that launched on the Commodore 64 in 1984, a couple others were created since: one in 2003 titled Regeneration and another in 2005 called A Fistful of Boomstick. Since then, Evil Dead fans have been left high and dry until Campbell decided to kick down the door! Groovy. Need more Ash Williams? Well, it looks like he might be headed to Mortal Kombat 11 pretty soon alongside some other spine-crushing additions.
Thoughts on the next Evil Dead game with Campbell returning as Ash Williams? Do you think they should eventually create a VR experience for the series or is it already good as is?
