The Blade of the Immortal Omnibus Volume 1 finally released today, December 28th! The American comic publisher, Dark Horse Comics, had announced the resurrection of the manga at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con. The comic was written and illustrated by the same person, Hiroaki Samura. The story follows a Ronin warrior from Japan, named Manji, who was cursed with immortality that can only be broken by killing 1,000 enemies. He ends up running into a young girl named Rin, who is on a quest to get revenge for her parents murder and he agrees to join her.

The Blade of the Immortal series has come in the forms of an anime series, a spin-off novel, an art book, and a live-action film set for release in 2017. The original manga series ran from 1993 until 2012. The Dark Horse manga will have 3 parts, each at $19.99 an the final part will include the novel, Blade of the Immortal: Legend of the Sword Demon by Junichi Ohsako. This novel was originally published in 2009, also by Dark Horse Comics.
