Mortal Kombat 11 Teaser Reveals First Look At Spawn

Mortal Kombat 11 Teaser Reveals First Look At Spawn

Late last month, the folks over at NetherRealm Studios announced the Mortal Kombat 11 ‘Kombat Pack,’ a collection of six additional characters that will be getting released into the game in the coming months. While the developer only revealed the names of four of the six upcoming characters, one of the names is of a character deeply steeped in comic book lore: Spawn. While NetherRealm has yet to release any details about Todd McFarlane’s creation, the company did release a brief teaser of what’s to come.

NetherRealm recently took to Twitter to release a very brief teaser clip for Spawn. Coming in at a slim 8 seconds, the teaser shows off a simple outline of Spawn, with the iconic markings on his mask getting filled in. Check it out below:

Obviously this isn’t as good as an actual reveal for the character, though if NetherRealm is teasing him like this then chances are we’ll get an official look at him soon. For those that are unfamiliar, Todd McFarlane’s Spawn represents one of the world’s longest-running monthly comic books, featuring the character Al Simmons, an elite government assassin who ends up getting betrayed and killed by the CIA. Not one to take that sort of thing lying down, Simmons sells his soul to Hell and gecomes Spawn, a soldier in a never ending fight against the underworld.

Of course, Spawn isn’t the only thing on the Mortal Kombat 11 menu, as fans can also look forward to Ash Williams, as well as some Terminator DLC coming in the future.

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
