Metro 2033 Redux Free For A Limited Time On The Epic Games Store

Metro 2033 Redux

The Epic Games Store usually offers one or two free games per week, but it appears the season of giving has prompted the storefront to give away even more titles before the year is officially ended. Starting on December 17th, Epic has confirmed 15 games are slated to be doled out for zero cost, with 5 already given away at the time of this article. Today’s sixth big freebie of December has been revealed to be none other than Metro 2033 Redux, the apocalyptic shooter adventure from 4A Games.

As listed on the game’s Epic Games Store page, is currently priced as “free,” with players able to permanently add the game to their collection. Touted as the first of the developer’s first game in the Metro universe, Redux offers a number of updates from the vanilla Metro 2033, including graphical upgrades and altered combat reminiscent of its 2013 sequel Last Light. Those interested in this offer may want to act fast as the game is set to revert back to its original price of $19.99 USD on December 23rd, specifically at 8 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. CT/ 11 a.m. ET.

A freebie such as this is an undoubted deal and offers fans the perfect opportunity to experience where the Metro game series began if they haven’t already. As for the future, 4A games has announced a number of projects regarding Metro down the line, including an all-new epic single-player experience that fans have come to expect as well as a multiplayer component set in the same apocalyptic universe.

Metro 2033 Redux is available now on Google Stadia, Linux, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
