Prop Maker Shows Off IRL Metal Gear Solid Grey Fox Helmet in New Video (VIDEO)
Fans of Metal Gear, it’s time to take a leaf out of this gamer’s book! In the gaming world, what could possibly be better than a replica designed to show off one’s loyalty and pride for their favorite video game? Building a real-life, working replica of in-game weaponry or costume pieces to flaunt in style is one of the mamy ways gamers pay homage! From pulse pistols, to Tesla rifles, even Reinhardt’s terrifyingly destructive hammer, there is certainly no shortage of innovative designers out there that take on the task of bringing these fictional weapons to life. But what about something to wear? Not to worry! Another replica has been created by an avid lover of Metal Gear Solid, and this time, he has created his very own, working Grey Fox Helmet! Check out the post below to see this helmet in action:

Known as diegator007 on Instagram, this designer has gone all out, creating a working headpiece for the deadly in-game assassin that has all our jaws dropping. The helmet is highly polished and functions by a chin-switch located inside the piece. Once the chin switch is activated, the helmet opens up, just like the character’s helmet does in the game. With real working lights, and an authentic flair to the helmet’s design, this is certainly an impressive piece for a Grey Fox cosplay.
While some would think that such a smart design would be kept close to the chest, it seems that diegator007 has no such intentions on keeping his design a secret. He’s actually shared the CAD print for the helmet on his Etsy account, so that other cosplayers can take a swing at building their own piece in the near future. As for the creator himself, he has not given word on whether or not a fully animatronic suit will be going along with the helmet in the near future, but our bet is, if he can build the helmet with such flawless detail, he can tackle the suit as well. Well done, sir!
Thoughts on the Grey Fox helmet build? How many cosplayers out there would love to build a piece just like this? How many people have had a chance to see diegator007’s previous cosplays in person?
