New Kirby Nintendo Switch Game Revealed With New Trailer at Nintendo Spotlight E3 2017 (VIDEO)
The Nintendo Spotlight E3 2017 video made its debut today, announcing a great many new projects, as well as more details about previously confirmed future titles. Much like the Sony press conference yesterday, most of these announcements consisted of the presenting of trailers for these new games, with little to no commentary from the developers or Nintendo executives – just the games speaking for themselves. One such title was the new Kirby Nintendo Switch game, which became confirmed with the release of a new trailer during the Spotlight video. Take a look:
The trailer shown during the Spotlight video for the new game, now simply titled Kirby, has been uploaded to the official Nintendo YouTube account. The title seems to be a traditional platforming Kirby game, much like the previously released Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, with his usual main power of inhaling enemies and obtaining their powers.
What may be the main differentiating hook of this game is Kirby’s new ability to instead of swallowing enemies being inhaled and taking their powers, Kirby can choose to instead throw a heart at them, which inflicts them with the power of love that Huey Lewis often sang about, and turns them into his ally.
Upon the conversion of these enemies, it appears that the option is then opened to either keep this newly befriended ally into a Computer Player that follows Kirby around, or can be playable by a second local player who joins in on the fun. Not much additional information is given about the game, and only a release window of 2018 is provided. Still, it looks as charming as Kirby usually is, so it is a most welcome addition to the Switch.
