Kingdom Hearts III Critical Mode Coming Soon
Kingdom Hearts III has been hugely successful since its release earlier this year, enough so that many can agree that it was well worth the lengthy wait. Now that the credits have rolled, players are beginning to wonder what will be added next to keep people playing. Thankfully, it appears that fans won’t have to wait too long before the game’s ‘Critical Mode’ makes its debut.
In a recent interview with Game Informer at this year’s Game Developers Conference, Kingdom Hearts III co-director Tai Yasue revealed that the game’s Critical Mode will be coming soon. The Critical Mode difficulty was first introduced in Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix, which saw your character’s health and exp gain significantly reduced. According to Yasue, though, the new mode “will be more than enemies just having a value change.”
Details on the upcoming difficulty were otherwise scant, though Yasue did say that the mode would be “more technical and offensive” and would be better suited to players who are “good at action games” and “timing attacks.” All in all the mode should mix up the way the game is typically played for players, adding a new layer of depth to an already incredibly rewarding experience. Those looking forward to the game’s upcoming paid DLC need not wait too long, as it will all be releasing at once by the end of 2019.
Kingdom Hearts III is now available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
