Kena: Bridge Of Spirits Photo Mode Revealed (VIDEO)
After seeing a slight delay last month, a new look at Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been revealed by developer Ember Lab, on the eve of the game’s release. While previous footage offered new insight into story and gameplay, the latest showcase focuses on the photo mode shipping with the visually stunning adventure, highlighting several prominent characters, environments, and picturesque poses available in the image-snapping mode.
As detailed on the PlayStation Blog, Ember Lab production dev Thomas Varga offered a brisk rundown of the features of Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ photo mode. When activated, on-screen characters are shown to freeze in place (though, still facing the screen) as players angle and position for the best possible shot. Several tools will be at players’ disposal, such as the ability to resume action and activate the “cheese” button, which animates characters with one of several poses distinct to each character; including the game’s loveable forest blobs, the Rot.
The lead-up to Kena: Bridge of Spirits’ release has shown nothing short of a gorgeous and cinematic fantasy adventure, so the addition of a photo mode was sure to be appreciated by fans, However, the inclusion was a welcome one for Ember Lab as well. “Throughout development, so much of our focus went into the dynamic story moments, epic action and battle animations, and beautifully crafted cut-scenes, but we also wanted to focus on the characters at rest,” Varga recalled. “Who are they on their off time? Are they a little more shy, or are they a total ham?”
“We hope that getting the chance to check in with every character in the more peaceful, interim moments helps you fall in love with the characters of Kena’s world, just like we have.”
Kena: Bridge of Spirits releases September 21st for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
