Fans of Just Cause 2 may recall with fondness the hours spent playing the multiplayer mod. With the ability to adjust physics, for players to span weapons and vehicles, or make the game more balanced, made the ability to play with friends casually or competitively a lot of fun. With the release of the action based open-world game, many fans may have been anticipating the coming multiplayer Just Cause 3 mod.

The wait is over. Though not yet complete, the mod is available for download from their site and was released December 20th. Unfortunately, the Just Cause 3 mod is not yet available on Steam, though the team suggests that future versions may be available later. With the mod still in beta, it is understandable that they are not yet ready to launch on Steam.

Fret not, as players can still play the game through Steam, and all you’ll need to do is download and launch the Just Cause 3 mod. The system requirements haven’t changed either, and a copy of the game on Steam is all you need to play. Get ready to dive back into to Just Cause multiplayer madness, we know we’ll be dropping in ourselves soon enough!

Fans will get to enjoy all of the fun of the single player game and then some. The mod includes all of the great features from Just Cause 3, with a dash of friends to make it even more fun and exciting. With car racing, flying squirrel suit gliding, aerial dog fights, and even jet surfing (you read that right), how could you go wrong on a Friday night?! Watch it all in the trailer below!

For a short time it looked as if the project would never happen. In 2014, the team who created the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2 announced a Just Cause 3 mod. Last summer, lead developer Cameron Foote announced he would be working with Avalanche Studios and thus abandoned the project. Development on the mod named JC3-MP ended. Over time however, JC3:MP emerged to take its place and is now available to play!
