Just Cause Movie Secures John Wick Creator

John Wick Just Cause

A live-action movie adaptation of Just Cause has been under development for some time now. Game of Thrones and Aquaman star Jason Momoa was recently cast as lead character Rico Rodriguez and there’s more exciting stars to join the team. High on the hype of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’s premiere in theaters this week, it’s been revealed that the creator of said film has joined the Just Cause movie crew.

Thanks to THR, Avalanche Studios and Square Enix takes their hit video game series to the big screen alongside the writer and creator of John Wick, Derek Kolstad. They’ve secured other industry professionals such as Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film and Prime Universe Film’s Adrian Askarieh, both of whom will produce the entirety of the Just Cause movie.

Akin to the main premise of the action-adventure video game franchise, the Just Cause live action adaptation follows the story of lead protagonist Rico Rodriguez. He must work at all costs to stop a destructive mercenary group that calls themselves The Black Hand. With John Wick 3 having amassed a whopping $56.8 million dollars on opening weekend and beating out Avengers: Endgame as top movie in North America right now, the announcement arrives with perfect timing.

What do you think about the Just Cause movie adaptation landing Kolstad? Do you think he’ll do immense work for production? This is as perfect a time as any for his name to bloom in Hollywood!
