A Permanent Pokemon Cafe Is Heading To Japan Next Year

Permanent Pokémon Cafe

The Pokemon series has now been around for over twenty years, and it shows no sign of slowing down its reign as a pop culture juggernaut. Pokemon Go is still going strong with new events in the U.S. and many are enjoying the new Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon games on the 3DS. However, the franchise has an even bigger presence in Japan with entire stores dedicated to selling themed goodies. There have even been Japanese Pokemon Cafes in the past, but sadly these have all been temporary pop-up restaurants. However, that now changes with a new permanent Pokemon Cafe coming to Japan.

The Pokemon Company has officially announced the inclusion of a permanent Pokemon Cafe being built in tandem with the new Pokemon Center DX store coming to the Takashimaya department in Nihonbashi in Tokyo, Japan. This comes after a temporary Pokemon Cafe was first opened in a Shibuya Parco department store in 2015, and a similar pop-up cafe in Singapore in 2016. Like these previous, this new novelty dining experience is expected to provide themed dishes and beverages to its guests, such as the dishes seen below from the Singapore pop-up.

The new store that the cafe will be attached to is officially referred to as the Pokémon Center Tokyo DX, and will sell all sorts of collectibles and apparel like the other Pokemon Center Mega Stores in Japan preceding it. Plan your Japan vacations accordingly, as the cafe is expected to open in March 2018. What do you guys think about the new permanent themed cafe? Let us know in the comments below!
