Injustice 2 ‘The Lines are Redrawn’ Story Trailer with Brainiac (VIDEO)

Previously revealed in a pair of teasers released by Injustice 2 and DC Comics’ official Twitter, was a short snippet of Superman holding his late beloved Lois Lane, and a sneak peek at a fight between Wonder Woman and Supergirl. Today, PlayStation uncovered “The Lines Are Redrawn”, the story trailer for the upcoming game as Brainiac narrates its entirety. The overall theme is quite dark, playing on the hypocrisy of good versus bad, heroes protecting humans, and the illusion of peace. Want to see it for yourself? Check out the epic trailer below:

Savior. Monster. Guardian. Vigilante.

The preservation of life, so often, the justification for taking it. Humans – elevating those that keep guard until they watch too close, and the so called hero condoning the very act he would condemn. Transgressions of the past shape actions to come.

As offspring turn into adversary, yesterday’s loss leads to madness. And god becomes tyrant, becomes outcast, becomes dust. As factions dissolve and form, and lust for power enslaves all. Such folly and futility in the grand design. Curious how lines once clearly defined become blurred. Hm, perhaps it is time for them to be redrawn.

Previously confirmed heroes and villains were Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Deadshot, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Harley Quinn, Supergirl, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Adding to that roster will be Poison Ivy, Brainiac and Bane. At the tail end of the trailer, Darkseid can be obtained as well, that is, if you pre-order. No word yet on Red Hood, it is unclear whether or not you can get him eventually. However, based on that which can be seen in the video, it is more than likely an exclusive.

A few details synced with the narration by Brainiac gives way to more details regarding the story for Injustice 2. “As offspring turn into adversary,” recited in the video, viewers witness Robin exchanging blows with Batman. Afterward, Poison Ivy wraps her vines around Superman’s chains who is supposedly mad from the death of his lost love and unborn. Her vines can be seen intertwining with Bane’s venom tubes as well. Even more curious is Batman taking on Wonder Woman’s side, after a brief pause in battle against Supergirl. At least, that’s what their stances and body language portrays.

Injustice 2 is schedule to release on May 16th, 2017. Pre-orders are available now.
