Hogwarts Legacy Artbook Suggests Possible Release Window
It’s been a particularly long while since we last heard anything about Hogwarts Legacy, with early 2021 seeing Avalanche Studios’ long-awaited Harry Potter RPG officially delayed shortly after its grand announcement. Set in the 1800s – well before the series’ traditional Harry Potter stories – the open-world title is premised as enrolling players into the magical Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they learn spells, explore the ancient campus, and uncover dangerous secrets of the wizarding world.
With little official confirmation of a release window, a newly announced artbook may give fans some idea of when to expect Hogwarts Legacy to release. As spotted by The Rowling Library, an upcoming companion book titled ‘The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy’ is set to hit book stores on September 6th, which may suggest the main game might follow suit. As artbooks are often released alongside the games they’re based on, it’s feasible that Hogwarts Legacy might also finally arrive this September as well.
As Portkey and WB Games have kept details under an invisibility cloak in recent months, the launch of Hogwarts Legacy has experienced decidedly immense speculation as of late. With such sparse news, rumors have inevitably suggested the game is experiencing development problems and might be delayed as far as 2023. However, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar and even Avalanche themselves have recently clarified Hogwarts Legacy is still on track for release sometime in 2022.

For those interested in the artbook itself, only the smallest tidbits are currently available. Published by Insight Editions, The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy is written by Jody Revenson, a frequent author for the Wizarding World saga with several behind-the-scenes chronicles of the Harry Potter film series under her belt. These include such best-sellers as Harry Potter Film Wizardry, Harry Potter Page to Screen, and the Harry Potter Vault series.
