Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Optimized For Xbox Series X/S (VIDEO)
As the newest generation of video game consoles nears its first anniversary of existence, these new platforms have sought to offer gaming experiences that take advantage of their exceptional new capabilities. With new video game releases being less frequent that past years, game developers have opted in many cases to update their PS4 and Xbox One versions of their games to be optimized for play on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, respectively. Games like Crysis Remastered have already done this, and now it seems that Microsoft has confirmed that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be receiving the same treatment on Xbox Series X/S.
Microsoft recently announced the Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice optimization with a new trailer on the official Xbox YouTube channel. The Xbox One version of the game is now being patched to make use of the Xbox Series X and Series S’s next-gen features. The trailer shows various scenes from the game, now captured with the Xbox Series X’s enriched visuals mode. The DirectX raytracing feature is also well evidenced in the trailer, as the lighting effects in the game now look more detailed and dynamic than ever before.
The trailer reminds audiences that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice won five BAFTA game awards, and these enhanced visuals will surely only further sell the incredible performances and mental health themes explored in the game. The free optimization patch is now available for the Xbox One version of the game for Xbox Series X and Series S users. While Senua has had to make big sacrifices in her life, Xbox Series X and Series S users will not have to sacrifice their next-gen device’s capabilities with Hellblade any more.
