Halo TV Series Is Still Happening, Confirms Showtime
Remember that Halo TV series that the team behind the project swore we were just going to love? Many fans of Master Chief and the gang have been wondering just what the heck happened to that and why no new news has been revealed about the upcoming show. Luckily, Showtime President David Nevins has finally given us an update letting us know that the Halo project is still very much in the works.
Nevins recently sat down with TV Guide to give the highly anticipated update and the good word is that it’s “still in very active development.”
It is absolutely still in development, still moving forward and I’m encouraged by what we’ve seen so far. It’s still live action, and it will definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and I think also satisfy the drama audiences of Showtime.”
Good to hear, and definitely gives us hope for seeing the Xbox staple in a different medium once more. The Halo TV series itself was first announced back in 2013 and after fans got a glimpse of the separate Halo: Forward Unto Dawn web series, the hope was alive for a well-done adaptation. With a franchise that is worth over $3.4 billion dollars, there are a lot of fans hoping for the best but at least we know that the project hasn’t been shelved.
The production team has stated numerous times that the progress is going “slowly” because they want to make sure it’s done right – which, we’re not mad at that. Many fond memories come from the Halo franchise, and we’d love to see its continuation in any way we can get our hands on. As far as a potential release window, however, that information is still up in the air.
What do you hope to see in the Halo TV series? Are you happy to see that they are taking their time with it, or do you just wish we had it already? Sound off with your thoughts in the comment section below, and don’t forget to check out DFTG on Twitter for gaming and entertainment news live 24/7!
