GungHo Online Entertainment is Bringing a New Action IP to the Nintendo Switch
Gungho Online Entertainment, the publisher of Grasshopper Manufacture’s game Let it Die, is planning to release a brand new IP for the Nintendo Switch console. According to the company’s CEO and Executive Producer Kazuki Morishita during a press statement at E3 2017, they have had this project in development for the past 4-5 years, emphasizing how different it is in comparison to other games on the market. It will feature multiplayer and single player capabilities as an action game for a “global audience” and a “light, comical tone”. In regards to why they chose to release a new game on the Switch, Morishita had this to say:
…when the Switch was announced, we decided with the kinds abilities the Switch brings to the market for different ways of playing, we felt that it would be a good fit.”
Additionally, Morishita specified how creating new content and games is their main objective. While the demographic they have served has been primarily in Japan, GungHo Online Entertainment is hoping to branch out more in terms of a “global scale”. Nothing else has been disclosed regarding the upcoming game, but it is likely to carry across other platforms like the PlayStation 4.
