GTA VI Seemingly Confirmed With In-Game Announcement – Coming Next Year? (UPDATE)
Update: Our sources have reached out about this being a modded Hoax, please take everything with a grain of salt. We have reached out to Rockstar for comment.
Despite being released five years ago, Grand Theft Auto V is still as strong as ever. With a passionate community of players and modders turning Los Santos into their playground, the possibilities are seemingly endless, which surely drives gamers to keep coming back for more. That said, Rockstar Games has remained rather silent on a possible GTA VI, but a recent alert may have just spilled the beans.
GTA Online players have been reporting an in-game alert that has been popping up recently, and it points to a 2019 release for the follow up to one of the most popular video games in history. You can see what’s been appearing for some players below:

Of course, it should go without saying that there needs to be some amount of salt involved with this. Rockstar hasn’t provided any official word as to whether or not GTA VI is actually on the way. Another suspicious aspect of the whole situation is that only those on PC have seen the alert. It does not appear that anyone on console has seen it, leading some to believe this could be the work of modders.
A whole lot of doubt is being thrown out there by the GTA community, though, especially over on the GTA subreddit. Some players claim to be seeing the message in single-player, while others have seen it pop up in an invite-only lobby. Either way, we just won’t know for sure until Rockstar officially responds.
