God Of War PS4 Pro Bundle Officially Revealed, Get Yours Here!

War PS4 Pro Bundle

God of War is set to release on PlayStation 4 in just a month’s time, beginning an all-new chapter in the realm of Norse mythology. The game will act as a reboot of sorts, taking the series in a fresh direction with not only a more matured Kratos, but in introducing his young son Atreus. Keeping in line with these bold changes, the newly revealed God of War PS4 Pro bundle features an appropriate Norse-themed look, designed after the protagonist’s new magical axe weapon, Leviathan.

The design sports a unique color palette for a God of War game, as previous system bundles usually emphasized the color red. This new iteration is largely a light gray color, highlighted by yellow accents and the presence of strategically scribed Norse runes. The supplementary Dualshock 4 controller is very similar in appearance, but featuring a single symbol as well as a God of War logo on the front touchpad. Santa Monica Studio head Shannon Studstill explained the relevance of the console’s look with PlayStation Blog.

War PS4 Pro Bundle

When we designed Kratos’ new Leviathan Axe, we knew it would have far more meaning not only to the game, but to our fans. Santa Monica Studio was extremely proud to adorn the custom PS4 Pro with the Leviathan Axe in such detailed fashion. We spent a painstaking amount of time to ensure this PS4 Pro was special, for the special fans who will cherish it.

The top surface is the Axe skill tree you’ll use in-game to upgrade your axe, along with the runic gem slots on the handle that enable unique special attacks. The side panels are trimmed with a beautiful Norse design, and the runes each represent a realm in the game. The Leviathan Gray DualShock 4 wireless controller has the Huldra Brothers brand on it (just like the Axe), and a very subtle God of War logo on the touchpad.”

Further explained were the God of War PS4 Pro bundle enhancements, with the upcoming game outputting “dynamic 4K resolution” through 2160p checkerboarding and featuring “increased image clarity” with supersampling for 1080p displays. Adding event more visual polish is the game’s HDR compatibility which will be available across all PS4s. The God of War PS4 Pro bundle is currently available for pre-order, launching alongside the game on April 20th.
