With the release of the PlayStation 5 just one month away, fans of the hit PS4 title Ghost of Tsushima have been waiting anxiously for any word of a PlayStation 5 rerelease. While the developer has yet to disclose if such a release is happening (it likely will), Sucker Punch has at least come forward to announce the PS4 version of Ghost of Tsushima will be playable on the PS5 through backward compatibility, and it’ll come with a few enhancements.
Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch recently took to Twitter to announced that the game will be playable on PS5 on day one via backward compatibility. Going one step further, the developer in a reply to its own tweet confirmed that those playing with Game Boost will note an extra option that will push Ghost of Tsushima up to 60FPS.

“PS4 titles get even better on PS5,” Sony revealed in a recent article about the Game Boost feature. “Select PS4 titles will see increased loading speeds on the PS5 console, and will also leverage Game Boost, offering improved or more stable frame rates. Some titles with unlocked frame rates or dynamic resolution up to 4K may see higher fidelity. Additionally, PS4 games will also take advantage of some of PS5’s new UX features, but more to come on that later.”
Ghost of Tsushima is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4. The game’s Legends DLC releases on October 16.
