The end of 2017 is nearly upon us, and once more the world of video gaming will soon be greeted by the return of everyone’s favorite respector of Kojima, Geoff Keighley, and his veritable recognition of this year’s best interactive titles. The big winners at last year’s Game Awards proved to be generally well received, and this year is looking to agree with the general critical consensus over this year’s most positively viewed games. The Game Awards 2017 nominees list has now been revealed, and this year  Mario, Legend of Zelda, Destiny and Horizon Zero Dawn  dominate the various nominations.

Some first for this year’s award categories include the splitting of the previously used Best Mobile/Handheld Game award into two separate awards, as well as a new Best Ongoing Game award for titles like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds which use the games as a service model. All will be revealed when The Game Awards stream live later this year on December 7th.
