Fortnite Missile Event Set To Launch One Time Only, Here’s When

After the Switch port of Fortnite was released, the in-game TV screens have been acting a bit odd.  There were broadcasts of a countdown clock in red lettering pointing to Tuesday, June 18th.  Once that day came, these screens started broadcasting a skull image.  This image is identical to that shown in the supervillain lair that popped up last month, indicating that some kind of event surrounding the big-honkin’ missile that lies within. Well, it seems Epic has confirmed as much with an in-game news post that went live today.

As the image shows, this will be a scheduled event for tomorrow at 10:30am PT/1:30pm ET.  But what’s really eye-catching here is the statement that this will be a one-time-only event. These kinds of events for the game tend to be a huge draw for Fortnite players who want to see how the map will change. The idea of an appointment-based, one-time event would surely bring a large number of players in just to see what will happen.  These events are a big deal for diehard fans of the game, like the fervor surrounding the comet event, and often bring severe changes to certain sections of the map.

What this missile’s target is hasn’t been confirmed, but fans are speculating and crafting their own theories as to what will get blown up. Last time it was Dusty Depot, Tilted Towers, and Risky Reels that got messed up. Who knows exactly where this next disaster will occur?

Seriously though, why would anyone live on this island?  I guess it makes sense why all the domiciles on the island are abandoned, maybe everyone was killed? Maybe everyone realized the reason why all the property was dirt cheap to build on was that the island is prone to having terrible things happening to it?  Maybe everyone got tired of the constant blood sport of 100 maniacs dropping into their neighborhoods with guns? I need answers Epic.
